In our project there are four intellectual outputs (IO).

IO1 – Needs Analysis

The Needs Analysis of 1. trainers in the vocational oriented language training and 2. stakeholders of car industry and tourism was be carried out in order to identify the existing situation in all the partner countries from both points of view. This Analysis along with the initial documents to the project formed the base for the definition of the professional Career Path for FL teachers and trainers – PROLANT-CAP. The indicator is a 30-page written document disseminated by the project web site as well as the partners´ web sites. This process lasted three months.

The full version of the needs analysis can be seen here  Needs-AnalysisNeeds Analysis (SK)Needs Analysis (FRA)Needs Analysis (ITA)Needs Analysis (LAT)

IO2 – The Vocationally-oriented Career Path for FL Teachers and Trainers (PROLANT-CAP)

This document consists of the framework of stages of a FL teacher´s and trainer´s career. It describes the developmental phases of teachers and trainers throughout their career, criteria for selection of teachers and trainers for the given stages of career. The precise procedure in which this is to be worked out was agreed at the 2nd management meeting once the Needs Analysis results was presented. The aim of the PROLANT-CAP is to support language teachers, whichever language they teach, in their own professional development. It is also a tool for managers and coordinators who are responsible for assuring the quality of language education, and for trainers and mentors who provide support and in-service development opportunities for language teachers.

It is published in the form of a grid or table. One axis is a list of categories of teacher competence; the other is a series of ‘phases of development’ ranging from novice teacher to experienced and expert teacher. Each cell of the grid contains descriptors for one area of competence at one phase of development.

IO3 – Training Programme for Car Industry

The training course meets the set goals of the project. It reflects the needs of the target groups with the focus on their competences development for their better employability. We set the entry criteria for the trainers and participants derived from the PROLANT-CAP model.

This training programme  consists of the course syllabus (20 mandays in total), teacher´s handbook with lesson plans (95 mandays in total). This handbook for teachers consists of 150 individual lesson plans. They are organized into the following sections: icebreakers and warm-up activities, grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening, speaking, looking backwards and forwards. Each lesson plan consists of the following parts: title, aim, level of proficiency, time, materials needed, sequence of sub activities for the given activity, a “designed to photocopy” section, acknowledgement. Each lesson plan is put in one page of the handbook. Apart from the lesson plans (150 in total/ 150 pages) there is the other part of the hand book such as: preface, contents summary, introduction, glossary of terms, bibliography.

We are convinced that a useful training course for automotive industry needs a more in-depth preparation for teachers and therefore this teacher´s handbook is worked with the application of the CLIL method. The SK and UK partners are experts in the CLIL method. Their SK trainers are moreover the authors of the accredited programme CLIL at the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic. Both of them have delivered the CLIL teacher-training programme to lots of language teachers and trainers so far. After the elaboration of the course materials the partners will apply for local accreditation.

Moreover there are the course evaluation, testing, methods, time allocation for each topic, two graduate´s profiles: one for the trainer and one for the participant. This took 5 months to work out. There are three partners working on these materials. The calculation of the mandays is as follows: IT partner – 45, SK partner – 35, LV partner 35.
